GUEST SERVICES Gracious Hosting at the Renaissance Worthington Hotel Theda Edmonds, a Renaissance Worthington Hotel concierge, makes the phrase "guest relations" truly meaningful. For 19 years, Theda, a longtime member of the Les Café Clefs d'or Concierge Association, has professionally and personally pampered Worthington patrons. Celebrities and conventional guests alike look at her as a cordial liaison between all the elements that make up Fort Worth. With her two staff associates, Theda strives to fulfill the wishes of each patron. "A good concierge never says "no" to a guest," Theda explains. "If you don't have an immediate answer, you simply buy a little time to find what they need." Theda's responses over almost two decades would fill a Concierge instruction manual. From exchanging casual conversation with guests such as movie idol Van Johnson, to obtaining hubcaps for Van Cliburn's car, Theda has done it all. Yet, you needn't be a celebrity to gain her attention. She warmly responds to all guests and treats everyone like royalty. As part of her job, she introduces guests to a host of "Cowtown" attractions. "Key Magazine is one of my handiest tools," Theda says. "The maps and events listing in every edition, make my job easier." Theda graciously exceeds a Concierge's calling. "Years ago before we had someone on site to tailor or alter apparel, a guest asked where he could have some newly purchased khaki slacks shortened. I told him I was not a seamstress but I knew how to sew, and altered them myself," Theda said. Friendly gestures such as this one are evidence of the professional Theda Edmonds genuinely is. She does much more than "sew." She sows good will and comfort among all the guests at the Renaissance Worthington. Current
