GUEST SERVICES Gracious Guiding at the Gardens Ruthie Albritton plays host to an international audience at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. During her 17 years of service she has greeted visitors from all over the US and a host of foreign nations. "We've greeted celebrities of every venue. Princess Di was once our guest, along with trumpet virtuoso, Doc Sevrinson. Singing icon, Tony Bennett, who also paints professionally, toured the gardens to capture them on canvas." "We also serve local patrons as individuals or in groups. We host popular entertainment like our summer Concerts in the Gardens, staged in conjunction with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra Association. We provide meeting facilities and necessary amenities for floral and garden clubs, herbal societies, and business firms. I try to make everyone feel welcome," Ruthie exclaims. "Whether they are here on business, photographing a special event, or just touring the gardens, I want them to feel right at home. I use Key Magazine as my favorite tool. It offers visitors a key to our community and all it has to offer." Ruthie Albritton discovered early in her career that greeting people was her forte. Her experience came from positions ranging from that of receptionist, to a service control representative for a transportation firm. Her hobbies have enhanced her ability to entertain. She has been involved in community theatre, sung with local country-western bands, and has entered the Miss Texas Senior Pageant. "My favorite activities are greeting and entertaining people. I enjoy meeting and helping patrons in a variety of ways," Ruthie explains. "Here at the Gardens, I’m able to do all those things." As a concierge at the Botanic Garden, Ruthie Albritton has found her niche. She blooms every day as a centerpiece of gracious southern hospitality. Current
