Fourteen Days of Entertainment
Featuring the World Championship Paint Horse Show

paint horseFort Worth, Texas–also known as “Cowtown”–will be transformed into a Paint Horse city when the 2007 World Championship Paint Horse Show takes place June 24 through July 7 at Will Rogers Memorial Center.

Attendees will find fun equine activities for the whole family, along with an expanded lineup of classes, a top-notch horse sale and entertainment at the American Paint Horse Association’s premier annual event. For 14 straight days, you can discover all things equestrian in the sprawling 85-acre Will Rogers Memorial Center, located in the heart of Fort Worth’s cultural district.

Shop at the Colors of the West Gift Show, watch thousands of beautiful American Paint Horses compete for world champion titles, attend free training seminars, buy an outstanding Paint at the Showcase Sale, and many other exciting things.

Kid’s Day July 4th: The Fourth of July celebration is a special day for families at the World Show, as APHA hosts “Kid’s Day.” Bring the whole family for fun-filled children’s activities, including Paint Horse rides, face painting and educational activities. Radio Disney will even be visiting the World Show from 10 a.m. to noon.

An annual non-qualifying event for registered American Paint Horses, the World Show will include 183 classes, featuring five challenge series classes and four sweepstakes events. Youth, Amateur and professional horsemen and horsewomen from around the globe will demonstrate their skills in halter, Western, English, cattle, driving and speed classes.

More than 1,800 horses from throughout the United States, Canada and other countries are expected for the event, making it one of the biggest Paint Horse shows on earth.

The first week of competition is dedicated to Youth classes and activities, allowing youngsters to interact with friends from all over the world. Admission and parking for all APHA World Show events are free.

A shopper’s paradise is part of the World Championship Paint Horse event and is called the Colors of the West Gift Show. Rated among Fort Worth’s top three gift shows, this shopping opportunity is located in the Amon Carter Exhibit Hall and features more than 100 vendors offering products and services from Western and English apparel, tack, jewelry, art and furniture to trucks, trailers, tractors and everything in-between–all in one convenient place.

paint horseAlso featured in the gift show is the Purina Mills Colors of the West Arena, the site of daily entertainment and informative clinics from well-known horsemen and horsewomen, and a product and fashion show with top-of-the-line merchandise. The gift show opens Saturday, June 23 at noon, and is open daily after that from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. through July 6, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 7.

At the World Showcase Sale, buyers can find the Paint Horse of their dreams. The sale features 75 of the industry’s finest performance and halter horses, broodmares, stallions, and up-and-coming prospects. The sale begins at noon on Friday, July 6, in the Watt Arena, where horses will be demonstrated live. Need a tractor?
