18-Aug. 23 Jubilee Theatre's cast performs Road Show, a new Jubilee
musical. The backdrop, an old time song-and-dance show on the Chitlin'
Circuit. It's a bad show, "Mama I Don't Want to Sing in the Beauty
Shop", but the underwriters don't care, and the ingenues don't know.
(We
would say stereotypes, but we have used that before.) The top dogs
greedily
lap the cream, while the hopefuls and has-beens put on their masks
nightly to churn the
butter onstage. The show troops on, and on, and gets stuck in Noblacks
Innistown,
USA. Since the money men high tailed it, will they make it back in
one
piece? $8-$25, Thu. & Fri. 8:15 p.m., Sat. 3:15 p.m. & 8:15
