Put on your boots and get back to your Western roots in Fort Worth. Join us for the National Cowboys of Color Museum and Hall of Fame Induction Weekend August 30-September 2. From bucking broncos to blues legends, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Check out the exciting weekend line up: Thursday, August 30: 2007 Hall of Fame Induction reception, silent auction and dinner starts at 6 p.m. at the Fort Worth Club. One of this year’s Hall of Fame inductees is Red Steagall, a renowned Western entertainer, songwriter, recording artist and television personality. Friday, August 31: Legends of the Blues Concert at Billy Bob’s Texas. Starting at 8 p.m., the concert features the dynamic music of The Muddy Waters Band, Buddy Guy and David “Honeyboy” Edwards. Saturday, September 1: 12th Annual Cowboys of Color Rodeo at Will Rogers Coliseum. Start with the parade at 1 p.m. and stick around for the rodeo that begins at 7 p.m., and enjoy the pre-rodeo events that will begin after the parade. There will be Buffalo Soldiers, face painting, music, vendors and family fun. Sunday, September 2: Mounted Shooting Patrol Exhibition from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The National Cowboys of Color Museum was founded to acknowledge the contributions of Hispanic Americans, Native Americans, European Americans, and African Americans in the settlement of the Western American Frontier. 21st Annual GrapeFest!

GrapeFest, A Celebration of Texas Wines returns for its 21st edition September 13, 14, 15 & 16, 2007. Join wine novices and connoisseurs to sample award winning Texas wines and enjoy great food, beverages and live music at this annual event offering four full days of fun.

The People’s Choice Wine Tasting Classic is a festival highlight, which includes the largest consumer-judged wine competition in the nation featuring some of Texas’ best wines. Now the fifth largest wine-producing state in the USA, Texas is home to several national and international award-winning wines. The International Wine Garden will feature wines from around the world to be enjoyed with live music on stages located throughout historic Main Street. “Thunder Over Texas” in Granbury

There will be “thunder” in Granbury, Texas on Labor Day Weekend 2007 and it’s not the kind we’ve had lately! Jerry Savelle Ministries present “Thunder Over Texas 2007,” a motorcycle rally and car show, August 31 through September 2 on the Historic Granbury Town Square. The largest Christian motorcycle rally celebrates its second year in Granbury – previous rallies were held at Texas Motor Speedway.

This three-day event is packed with exciting daily rides, children’s activities, live entertainment, car & motorcycle displays and merchandise vendors on the Granbury Courthouse Square and Shanley Park.

Visitors can experience the powerful ministries of Jerry Savelle and Kenneth Copeland, Power Team “Feats of Strength,” bike rodeo and a Dart run all in the charming setting that Granbury is known for. Fossil Rim Offers New Wildlife Experiences

With summer in full swing, Fossil Rim Wildlife Center is offering several new amenities to make the visitor experience more enjoyable. There have also been several innovations to the Fossil Rim website, such as allowing shopping at the Nature Store on-line.

A new animal flipbook and audio CD are available to enhance the drive-thru experience while taking the drive-thru tour. The book goes hand in hand with the audio CD and helps visitors identify the animals and look for wildlife that may be out of sight. The book and CD can be purchased at the front gate or the audio CD can be purchased on-line from the Nature Store for $9.99. The Nature Store is always a popular stop on the tour and visitors have the opportunity to browse one of the largest selections of animal-related gifts around. Many of the products are also now available on the Fossil Rim website at www.fossilrim.org. Everything from t-shirts, exclusive jewelry, food products and more can be purchased, with all of the items making great gifts for animal lovers around the world. Proceeds benefit Fossil Rim Wildlife Center and help feed the animals.

Also available on-line are memberships to Fossil Rim Wildlife Center, as well as gift certificates for future visits. The advantage of the annual membership is that it entitles members to unlimited visits throughout the year, plus special discounts and notification of special events. Discounts include 10% off lodging and Behind the Scenes Tours at Fossil Rim. Membership rates are available for families, individuals and senior citizens.

79th Showing of Thrills & Spills at the North Texas State Fair

The 79th annual North Texas State Fair in Denton, Texas will be the biggest ever and the best by far! Nine days of exciting rodeo events and livestock shows are flanked by all kinds of fun for everyone in the family highlighted by "Sound of Texas" top entertainers, great dance bands, country legends and bright new talent. The 2007 fair will also include a number of cool, free venues in the Kid's Zone including the all new Pirates Ahoy!, a dress-up show where the kids get to play the parts of swashbucklers.

Music is as much a part of the Fair as are the cowboys and livestock. The main concert stage will tout some of Texas' best talent: Stoney LaRue, Tommy Alverson, Johnny Rodriguez, Mark David Manders, Johnny Cooper, Max Stalling, Jason Boland and the Stragglers, Cory Morrow, and Sammy Kershaw-just to name a few. There is a concert every night.

Admittance is $10 for adults and $3 for kids ages 6-12. Kids under 6 are free. Admittance ticket includes access to the concerts, rodeo, livestock show, and all the excitement!

By attending the North Texas State Fair, fairgoers support the youth of North Texas. The North Texas State Fair contributes over $35,000 back into youth programs every year.
