Glass Cactus-North Texas' Newest High-Energy Nightclub The Glass Cactus, labeled the hottest nightclub in the region, opened its doors September 20. Located on the shores of Lake Grapevine at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center, the $16 million nightclub hosted its invitation-only VIP opening September 7 with music superstar, LeAnn Rimes. "The Glass Cactus experience is unlike anything anyone has seen before in a nightclub," John Imaizumi, senior vice president and general manager of Gaylord Texan Resort, said. "Our state-of-the-art sound, lighting and video systems, which will be synchronized to each band’s show, rivals that of the best performance halls in the country. In combination with the best sunset views in town, a menu of upscale "club" cuisine and signature cocktails that are second- to-none, Glass Cactus is far-and-away the place to go for late night entertainment."
Offering 39,000 square feet of entertainment and dining space, Glass Cactus includes themed signature bars, including Fire Bar, Tequila River and the outdoor Deck Bar. A 1,500-square-foot stage and 2,000-square-foot dance floor are included in the establishment’s footage along with a 4,000-square-foot VIP section overlooking the main floor and stage, and a 13,000-square-foot outdoor deck overlooking Lake Grapevine. Nightly live music, ranging from country to blues to rock ‘n roll, will cover the diverse traditions of Texas music. Patrons can also sample a selection of creative "club" cuisine, including Mini Black Angus Burgers, Smoked Shrimp Flat Bread or take advantage of the club’s tequila selection, the largest in the state of Texas. Self-parking is complimentary with validation for local guests. Valet parking is also available. The club charges a $10 cover for local guests and a $5 cover for resort guests. In Gaylord Entertainment's effort to give back to the community, Glass Cactus will be the official home of "Texas Music Project," a cooperative of Texas musicians and educators who share a common goal of strengthening music programs in Texas schools and communities. A portion of the proceeds from Glass Cactus will help support this important objective. Current
